This evening was awesome, so glad Raell called me for it because I had such a wonderful time. What a lovely performance by all the children – they just take your breath away. It was very nostalgic and towards the end you’re so proud and happy to be an Indian. It’s for kids, it’s for adults, & I highly recommend this to all families, come and see Mahatma! You will love it!
These kids have made me humble, what magic, what talent and I feel so good cause we used to go and see productions in London and say,” look at their stage craft & grandeur”. Raell has created complete magic on stage. It just makes you feel so proud as an Indian.
Mahatma was simply beautiful ,great & amazing! 300 children putting up this show and the concept that we can take history to our children and they can enjoy it, I think that’s wonderful and we should have more plays like this to inform our children about the history of our freedom struggle, the history of our country and the history of our civilization.
With a cast of 300 children with 8 different NGOs performing together, Raell Padamsee’s mega production MAHATMA is truly amazing! A touching story on India, which brings back great values of Mahatmaji, it’s a journey that every family must experience.
This is one of the most meaningful theatre productions ever to be staged. Very professional. And very Inclusive! What an impact it will have on all minds, particularly the ‘formative’ ones! Congratulations!
Great ! Well done ! Congratulations, the kids were truly amazing!
A fantastic evening. Every sequence was extraordinary – some moreso than others! Congratulations on a slick production.
It was wonderful being at MAHATMA. The children are really so talented- you bring out the best from them.
When you see the world and meaningful events through a child’s eye it is all the more poignant and impacts you in a powerful way. The message of the mahatma is brought to you by this production which packs an amazing punch! Mind blowing visuals and the purity of impaired kids raise this to another level altogether. Discovered the Gandhi in myself
It was a great show. Unbelievable. I am still trying to find out how could you do it. To select 300 children having different life styles; train and coordinate them; assign them appropriate role; get them perform on such a huge stage flawlessly is a stupendous job. It does require tremendous effort, physical as well as mental.
Coupled with it the script was unique. Instead of just narrating the history, you have well conceptualised as to how it can impact more in real spirit to modern day children and materialistic society which have forgotten our glorious past and sacrifices made by our great leaders like Mahatma to achieve Independence for our Nation.
Hats off to you and your Production team.
Thousands of people who watched play ‘Mahatma’ produced by you will definitely cherish it in their memories forever.
Brilliant play …excellent production ….inspired National pride and values in all of us…A must see for parents and kids alike ….
It was a magnificent performance and from the heart ! All my good wishes to your success
Super show. The children were wonderful. The sets amazing! Loved the song and the music. Very inspiring, enjoyed it all.
My heartiest compliments to you and CREATE Foundation for the brilliant show….MAHATMA- Come find the Gandhi in you…I was truly moved seeing young talent across spectrums of society conveying such a deep and relevant message with such simplicity…hats off to your vision and creativity.
MAHATMA was a mind boggling experience-I just loved it–what a touching depiction of a slice of history-the fact that Bapu is a person who I respect and admire was a double whammy.
It must have been a stupendous task to coordinate so many kids and kudos to the TEAM that made it possible. Raell, this is a fitting tribute to your mother. You are truly her legacy!
I seldom get teary eyed… but at three or four moments in Raell Padamsee’s MAHATMA I was so overcome by emotion …. about the loss of our ideals and the despair at the state of things in our country that I had to fight hard to stop my tears…and it was Gandhi’s message of equality and acceptance and tolerance and non violence and compassion being communicated to us by some 300 children from various NGOs and privileged schools… to us the hard boiled, callous, acrimonious, bigoted, prejudiced, racist, avaricious generation.
The precision of light and sound were perfectly interwoven with the best of Malakhamb by blind students and the hair raising dance acrobatic choreography interwoven in its stage design left one gasping in wonder….The train arriving on stage when Gandhi is evicted from the first class compartment in South Africa; the helicopter descending with Lord Mountbatten; the deer roaming in the forest were visually amazing.
But it was the message that the Mahatma imparted to the world 100 years ago ..and that is being overlooked and sidelined in the India of today that made this moving experience more poignant as it was communicated through children
There could not have been a better tribute to Mahatmaji the way it has been enacted by 300 children and at the end of it we all know that somewhere we have a little Gandhi in us, lets rekindle that, lets re ignite that and take this world a better place, I don’t think that anyone else besides Raell’s Ace to handle such a production.
